"These mid-year reductions could have been more severe for higher education.  We appreciate the efforts of Governor Bobby Jindal, Commissioner of Administration Paul Rainwater, and the Administration staff in mitigating the impacts to Louisiana's colleges and universities," said UL System President Randy Moffett.   "Our campuses have worked hard over the past three years to strategically meet budget reductions while protecting core functions and improving performance.  I expect our presidents will meet this five percent reduction with the same careful and conscientious approach."

The campuses must submit budget reduction plans to the Louisiana Board of Regents through the UL System office by Dec. 29, 2011.
