University of Louisiana System Day at the Capitol is April 10, 2014
Recognition by the Louisiana Legislature, Nine University Showcases, and Launch of the UL System's Online Data Dashboard will be Part of the Day's Events
BATON ROUGE - University of Louisiana System presidents, faculty, staff, students, board members, business partners and community leaders will converge on the Louisiana State Capitol on Thursday, April 10 to celebrate the state's largest higher education system. In addition to a showcase of programs and initiatives at the nine universities, the UL System will launch its online data dashboard and iPad app.

"Our Board and nine universities have been working hard over the past year on several initiatives including growing our public/private partnerships and developing an interactive, real-time data dashboard that will fuel strategic decision making. It is fitting that we will highlight both during the very first ULS Day at the Capitol," said UL System President Sandra Woodley.
The following are listings of university programs and initiatives that will be featured during the day in addition to business and community partners.
Grambling State University will feature its science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs. President Frank Pogue's featured guest will be Computer Science Program Coordinator and Professor Yenumula B. Reddy.
Louisiana Tech University will feature its cyber engineering and computer science/information systems programs. President Les Guice's featured guests will be CSC Director of Strategic Initiatives John Dancy and Cyber Innovation Center President Craig Spohn.
McNeese State University will feature its innovation and agricultural sciences programs including the Center for Advancement of Meat Production and Processing. President Philip Williams' featured guest will be Southwest Louisiana Economic Development Alliance President/CEO George Swift.
Nicholls State University will feature its culinary and geomatics programs. President Bruce Murphy's featured guests will be South Central Industrial Group Executive Director Jane Arnette, Rig-Chem CEO Lori Davis, and Chef John Folse.
Northwestern State University will feature multiple programs including nursing, the arts, and engineering technology. President Randy Webb's featured guests will be Natchitoches Mayor Lee Posey and Alliance Compressors Natchitoches Plant Manager Ken Gardner.
Southeastern Louisiana University will feature its sustainability and green initiatives. President John Crain's featured guest will be Envoc CEO Calvin Fabre.
University of Louisiana at Lafayette will feature its petroleum engineering and computer science programs. President E. Joseph Savoie's invited guests are Golf Balls.com President and CEO Tom Cox, Acadiana Cox Communications Executive Director of Operations Julie Dronet, Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jason El Koubi, and Lafayette Consolidated Government City-Parish President Joey Durel.
University of Louisiana at Monroe will feature its pharmacy program. President Nick Bruno's featured guest will be Louisiana Independent Pharmacies President and CEO Randal Johnson.
University of New Orleans will feature research programs tied to STEM. President Peter Fos' featured guests will be GE Capital Technology Center in New Orleans' Chief Information Officer Mike DeBoer and Software Engineering Apprenticeship Program Leader Jeffrey Serpas.
