Dear Universities of Louisiana, 

I’m thrilled to begin my journey as the University of Louisiana System president and CEO. I’m grateful for the Board of Supervisors’ trust and am dedicated to serving our university communities with enthusiasm and a focus on innovation. 

I appreciate the warm welcome I’ve received so far from our campuses as well as the many external organizations that we regularly work with. The energy and passion in our university communities are inspiring, and I’m excited to work with each of you to support our mission of excellence in teaching, research, and service. 

It is my goal to learn more meaningfully about our member institutions. In the next few weeks, I will visit all of our campuses to better understand their strengths, challenges, and dreams. It’s important to me that we celebrate each institution’s uniqueness while working together as a team. Together, we’re stronger, and I’m committed to creating a culture where we leverage our collective knowledge and resources for greater success. 

I also know technology, especially artificial intelligence, is rapidly changing higher education and society. To prepare for the future, we must equip ourselves with the skills and tools for a more digital world. I’m dedicated to ensuring our university communities are ready to use AI for innovation, discovery, and efficiency. 

I invite you to join me in imagining the exciting future we can create together. Let’s use our collective strength to make a brighter future for Louisiana’s students.
