University of Louisiana System Hurricane Gustav Campus Status Update
BATON ROUGE – As the state recovers from Hurricane Gustav, all eight University of Louisiana System campuses are focused on restoring normal operations as soon as possible. All universities with the exception of Nicholls State University and Southeastern Louisiana University will resume classes Thursday, September 4. Efforts are underway to assist Nicholls and Southeastern by its sister schools with both targeting resuming classes Monday, September 8.
“Hurricane Gustav has impacted every part of our system. Our South Louisiana schools sustained some damage and our North Louisiana schools are still housing evacuees and special needs patients on their campuses. I applaud the efforts of our faculty, staff, and students who are working together to recover while also taking care of their own families,” said UL System President Randy Moffett.
