Each student in the UL System plays a vital role in shaping Louisiana’s future. Whether entering college for the first time, returning after time away, or pursuing advanced credentials, our institutions meet learners where they are and help them reach their goals.
UL System institutions are expanding access through flexible pathways, from dual enrollment in high school to graduate study. We recognize that talent takes many forms and that education should be transformational, not transactional.
To support that vision, our institutions are expanding opportunities for Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), allowing students to earn credit for knowledge gained through work, service, and life experience.
Our students bring different goals, backgrounds, and strengths, but each one helps drive progress on our campuses, in our communities, and across our state. We’re here for every stage of learning, committed to building not just opportunity, but lifelong connection.
Going back to school isn’t as hard as you think.
Compete LA is a program to assist the 653,000 Louisianians with some college credit to re-enroll and complete their degrees. Students are paired with a free personal coach to guide them from application to graduation.
