Dr. Gloria J. George is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Developmental and Higher Education Studies at Grambling State University. In this role, she is engaged in service activities, such as participating in departmental committees and contributing to curriculum development, ensuring the program remains rigorous and current. She is passionate about shaping the next generation of higher education professionals.

A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Dr. George holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a Master of Arts in Adult Education from Northwestern State University, and a Doctor of Education in Developmental Education from Grambling State University. Alongside her role at GSU, Dr. George also serves as a Mental Health Specialist with Red River Therapeutic Solutions in Shreveport, LA.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Dr. George is committed to community service. She serves as the Chairman of the Trinity Visions Community Development Corporation Board of Directors; a member of the Northeast Louisiana Delta African American Heritage Museum Board of Directors, The Wellspring Board of Directors, the Editorial Board for Educational Research Quarterly, the National Organization for Student Success (NOSS), the Louisiana College Learning Center Association (LCLCA), and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Omicron Iota Omega Chapter (West Monroe, LA); Secretary for the Greater Monroe Area Council of the National Pan‐Hellenic Council; a Louisiana Notary Public; Vice President of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Ruston; and Sunday School Superintendent and adult teacher at Mount Harmony Missionary Baptist Church of Ruston, Louisiana.
