Lyle Hardee is the Department Head of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at McNeese State University. He received his Bachelor of Science degrees in both Mathematical Sciences and Computer Science from McNeese State University. He received his Master's degree in Mathematical Sciences with a concentration in Computer Science from McNeese State University in 2013. He has been with McNeese since 2014 and has served as an Instructor of Mathematics before becoming Department Head in 2022. He is currently revising the general education Math curriculum to integrate more practical, real-world examples into courses. He has also written several grants to improve technology in the classroom and several endowed professorships to support peer-mentoring opportunities for students in Mathematics. He currently serves as the campus coordinator for the Louis Stokes Louisiana Alliance for Minority Participation (LS-LAMP). When not at the office, he enjoys spending time with his two dogs, Cotton and Casper.
