2025 Title IX Summit

The 2025 University of Louisiana System Title IX Summit, From Policy to Practice, brought together nearly 100 coordinators, campus leaders, and student representatives for two days of learning, collaboration, and shared strategy. Co-hosted by Grambling State University and Louisiana Tech University, the Summit focused on strengthening Title IX implementation across our institutions and elevating approaches that center student safety, equity, and support.
A major highlight of the event was the legislative and statewide leadership panel moderated by Joshua Jones of Grand River Solutions. Panelists included State Senator Katrina Jackson-Andrews, State Representative Rashid Young, Brianna Golden of the Board of Regents, Alisha Carter of TNG/ATIXA, and Onyeka Nwaezeapu, student representative from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Their discussion explored how campuses can translate policy into meaningful practice, navigate evolving Title IX and Power-Based Violence regulations, and strengthen cross-campus partnerships and accountability.
The Summit concluded on Friday with a keynote presentation from Emma Hempel, “From Policy to Practice: Advancing Student-Centered Approaches and Institutional Accountability.” Her message underscored the importance of trauma-informed, student-focused processes and highlighted the need for institutions to move beyond compliance toward meaningful, accountable practices that truly support students.
