McNeese State University Presidential Search Committee Approves Timeline

Lake Charles, LA —The McNeese State University Presidential Search Committee accepted its charge and approved the search timeline and advertisement during today’s inaugural meeting.
Located in Lake Charles, McNeese State University serves as a comprehensive regional university and a key driver of talent development, economic growth, and community engagement in Southwest Louisiana. The next president will be expected to advance academic excellence, strengthen programs aligned with regional and state needs, support student success, and build partnerships that sustain the university’s impact across the region.
The approved timeline below is subject to change at the committee’s discretion.
- May 1 – Preferred date for applications
- May 4 – Committee receives list of candidates
- May 7 – Committee meets in Baton Rouge to review applicant materials and select semifinalists
- May 12 - 13 – On-campus semifinalist interviews occur, and finalists are selected
- May 19 – (Special Board Meeting) Finalists are presented to the full Board of Supervisors, and a president is selected
